International House Residents’ Council

• • Served on the Residents’ Council at the International House at the University of Chicago, October 2004 – June 2010
• • Received first Residents’ Council Service Award for “continuity of service and outstanding contributions” in May 2010.
• • Tribune, October 2009 – June 2010. Responsible for collecting resident suggestions and complaints, presenting them to Council and Administration, and helping resolve. Created database to track issues and facilitate resolution. Designed and ran annual resident survey. 
• • Representative at Large, October 2008 – October 2009 and October 2004 – May 2005. Attended meetings, assisted with events, including planning and running two Mock U.S. Presidential Elections and the annual Thanksgiving Dinner for residents. 
• • Treasurer, May 2005 – October 2008. Organized historical financial data. Implemented new record keeping and reporting systems using Quicken. 
• • Designed website for Council in 2008. Responsible for changes and updates 2008 – 2010.

Craftsman Weekend Committee

Pasadena, California

• • Served on the planning committee for Pasadena Heritage’s Craftsman Weekend, 1999 – 2003
• • The Craftsman Weekend is the nation’s largest, annual conference dedicated to the Arts & Crafts Movement (c. 1900 to 1915) and the largest fund-raising event for Pasadena Heritage. During the period I served on the Committee, the conference featured three days of events and netted up to $100,000 annually.
• • Served as Co-Vice Chair of the Committee in 2002, participating heavily in planning, operations management, and marketing for the event. 
• • Served as Location Manager for the most important venue during the conferences in 1999 through 2002, dealing with landlord relations, on-site requirements of 50+ vendors, volunteer coordination, site safety and security, and vendor setup/takedown management.

• • Served as Secretary, July 2002 – June 2003.

• • Attended board meetings, assisted in revision of by-laws and standing rules.
